Let me be Tender-Hearted Despite, Despite, Despite.

Sun Gupta (they/them)

Hi, I’m Sun, a counselor and art therapist who’s all about showing up as a real human in the therapy room.

I work with folks who’ve have been to told they are “very self aware” but still feel stuck in a 5-D chess match with their brain. Whether you’re navigating trauma, identity, burnout, neurodivergence, or just trying to make sense of being a human in a late-stage capitalist hellscape, you’re not alone. Therapy with me is not about fixing but about being a passionate witness to your lore.

My approach is client-led, anti-oppressive and decolonial. I blend expressive arts therapy, ACT, Gestalt, and whatever-the-hell-works into something flexible and collaborative. You don’t have to “perform” healing here. Come as you are, whether that’s fidgety, angry, overwhelmed, dissociated, weepy, or full of jokes.

I believe healing doesn’t have to be sterile. It can be weird, creative, slow, nonlinear and sometimes even funny.

We will figure it out together.

  • I specialize in Art Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Phenomenology, and a lot of Somatic and Internal-Family Systems inspired approaches. I also offer guidance with transitioning aesthetically, identity work as well as living in a neurotypical world while being true to your neurodivergence.

  • My work as a therapist is deeply shaped by my own lived experiences as an autistic, queer, nonbinary, and Indian person. Navigating multiple cultures and identities has taught me the importance of belonging, creativity, and resilience, which I carry into the therapy room. I know firsthand how healing can come from both community and self-discovery, and I integrate that understanding into how I show up with clients. Outside of work, my love of art, books, video games, and tabletop role-playing games helps me connect with clients who also find meaning in creative or playful worlds.

  • I work with queer, trans, and QTBIPOC clients across the lifespan, as well as children, teens, and young adults navigating identity, family, and cultural challenges. I also support neurodivergent folks (ADHD, autism), people processing generational trauma, and individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, or major life transitions.
